Ha ha,he was to Gordon Lee what Phil Neville was to MoyeslolSteady Dario
suggesting he was as good as bracewell, rather that his role is identical, i.e. Feed the better playerMate, his first season,he was fantastic, but he is one of many in my eyes who have regressed under RM,and to me even at his best he was not in the same stratosphere as Brace
The only comparison possible with Bracewell is that he and McCarthey werent goal scoring midfielders, but Bracewell could pass , tackle and dominate games.I wasnt
suggesting he was as good as bracewell, rather that his role is identical, i.e. Feed the better player
They passed it around him as for some reason he is pressing on his own whilst others are sitting deep or standing still.
The real question is why was he doing this?
was it because he was told too by his manager which is a suicide tactic it's like the training drill when you stand in the middle of a circle and the players all pass it around you whilst you try to get it back, or is it because he is a tactical liability & went against his managers instructions to sit deep.
Comparison with Bracewell is ridiculous. McCarthy is a decently useful journeyman pro the kind of which you find in every lower Prem upper Championship club midfield. No more no less.
God I feel old when I see my hero brace on the Sunderland bench with a grey head,I always think of him as forever young!!
I know mate, amazingly reidy hasn't changed a jot,he looked an old git back then and still looks the same these days!!Ya think?
I was watching Orlando City @ New York Red Bulls a while ago and thought the chubby looking bloke on the line for Orlando reminded me of someone.
Near the end the commentator referred to "Orlando coach, Adrian Heath..."
