Personally I would keep McCarthy and get rid of the other dead wood mcgeady,kone,cleverly. And i certanly wouldn't have given Gibson a new deal I would have put Osman,hibbert,Gibson in The same suitcase.

I wouldn't have give Gibson a new deal. But I don't rate McCarthy one bit and no point in having him on the bench or keeping cleverly. 20mi! For the two. 2 new midfielders with besic barry Gibson and young Davies as cover
Gibson has sell on value why let him go for free? Was a smart move financially.

I've just named 4 players as cover. If he was a lot better than besic Barry or Gibson then fair enough. But hes not, so why keep him when you can get decent money back
Injury problems, retire soon, injury/fitness/might be sold.
We've got pretty good depth there but if we binned off everyone quoted on this forum and bring in the 3-4 targets we've been heavily linked with our squad would be minuscule.

Eh? There's absolutley no indication at all that, even if we sign Carvalho, for example, that McCarthy won't be playing.
I dont rate McCarthy but there are others we need to get rid of first as HKtoffee says. McAleny will go, McGeady I am sure we are going to end up paying most of his wages for a season to get him off the books. Kone we should just do the humane thing and put down. McCarthy I think does need to move as he hasnt done anything for two seasons but he shouldnt be first out the door. Might be hard to get him through a door as he only knows how to move sideways anyway the massive crab!!

He would command a large fee still...and there'd be interest still. If we pull off the transfers being discussed McCarthy should be first...namely because we'd make a nice profit. The others wouldn't command any money.
