I know people have disagreed with my comment about him but he is not good enough to justify his price tag or his new contract. He stops us moving quickly forward and is a bit of a sh*t house as well. Not once yesterday did he look to help out his full back at throw ins, he stood pointing at everyone else. We as a club deserve better than this.

His passing range is woeful. The two yard sideways or backwards pass is all he has. Hopefully Gibson will get fit and Besic will kick on so that we don't need to see either of Barry or McCarthy in the first team.

He's not crap, he's just limited in what he's good at and I've seen nothing in two seasons to suggest he's going to improve in the areas he's weakest at

He's a good player but massively overrated by our fans. His passing is fine but it's very safe and not incisive enough to really put the team on the front foot.

If "for a while" you mean preseason I'd agree with you. But despite a slow start last season and then a lot if injures he was good towards the end of the season. You had him as MOTM against Sunderland, as I did myself, and that was as recently as May 9th.

McCarthy is class. He's key to our team and we'd be much worse off without him. Didn't have the best of games yesterday but neither did a few others. I think him and Cleverley or Barkley make a better midfield pairing than McCarthy-Barry, personally - that showed in the last half hour when Koné came on.
