The clue is in the name.

Football.

His foot got the ball, he wasnt 2 footed, he was in total control, struggling to see where the foul is committed personally.

It was from behind, was my first thought. He does take the ball first, you're right there. But that actually doesn't matter anymore I'm reading. Yep, not two footed, but why does he bring his other leg across? Could have easily broken his leg doing that. You don't ever do that in a tackle without trying to hurt someone. I'd know, I've given and doth received such tackles.

I'm trotting out the old adage here...'if that was Tomkins on Delofeu and he was out till February we'd be fuming'... anyway, the Referee has agreed with you and majority opinion, but if I was reffing, he's off. Instant. I'm probably wrong, but they keep tweaking the rules every year.

Exhibit A : A technically correct tackle. Notice the trailing leg tucked under.

Exhibit B : A technically Incorrect tackle.

I rest my case, your honour.

It honestly doesnt matter if he took the ball first, that is indeed correct, but he hasnt launched himself, hes in control of the slide and hes come from the side not from behind, I suppose there is slight intent with regards the sweeping leg, but IMO the ball is won cleanly and its honestly not a dangerous tackle, just unlucky that it "appears" to have caused an injury, although I do recall he stayed on the pitch for another 20minutes after the tackle so whos to say he didnt jar his knee at a later time of the match?

All in all, a perfectly timed tackle that claimed the ball.

I really can't argue with any of this.

Still pictures dont really show anything.

Picture A, from that still it could be said the ball has already gone and the tackle is late.
Picture B, both feet are off the ground and there appears to be very little intent on winning the ball.
Picture C, shows the aftermath of a superbly timed tackle that has already won the ball.

I'll need that in exhibit form mate.

Strike that testimony from the record Your Honour.

Exhibit C actually shows the tackle before the sweeping leg, if you notice the look of pain on the jarg little midgets face, which appears to be caused by his ankle getting trapped underneath Jamos anus, this twisting his knee and indeed a possible cause of the injury.

But given the fact that he remained on the pitch, for a lengthy period of time after the tackle, thus possibly putting strain on a slight injury, hereby making it worse, can only mean that your honour throws out this unbelieveable claptrap.

The Defence rests and requests the defendant be removed from the courtroom and allowed to continue playing football the way its meant to be played.

Similar to injury to cleverly. Looked bad coz player gets injured.
Mccarthys was a worse tackle but because he's are own wel let it slide
