Davies can give us that same energy and is also inventive and unpredictable with the ball at his feet as an added bonus.

I mentioned Davies, I just said, when Davies was struggling at the start of the season, we could have done with someone else to offer the energy levels.

Ah right, misread. Gueye should have been doing that, but he's been way off the boil this season. Schneiderlin has never really been an all-action runner.

Certainly, I think sometimes it seems Gana is doing the work of 2 men and yet it's him that gets taken off every game whilst Schneiderlin stinks the place out. It's the whole 2 defensive mid thing again, just totally unnecessary, especially at home. I think McCarthy could still have a role to play, can't keep expecting Davies to get us out of the plop every game and Schneiderlin could do with being let know his place isn't rubber stamped.

Davies isn't nearly the same level of tackling that McCarthy was. Knock McCarthy all you want, but he is far superior on that side of the ball. Davies is still an infant tbf

He did well towards the end of last season, a couple of goals I think, payed a lot of balls forward as opposed to sideways.
The Ireland stuff is a mess but he's a good footballer who will benefit the squad if he can get a run of fitness together.

Enough to earn him an improved contract though ... Everton that.

Anyway, I am willing to bet that McCarthy suffers another hamstring injury on Ireland duty :)
It's the curse of the Leprechauns - should have played for Scotland then he would have been injury free

Will no doubt get banzaied playing for his adopted country and cost us hundreds of thousands of pounds while he gets better in time to join West Ham

If he's fit again to play and comes back unscathed, I'd have him in the side. Think him and Davies would give us more than Gueye and Schneiderlin at this point in time.
