I don't think McCarthy will be leaving. I think he is a player RK likes and the comments about Barry at the weekend I feel were important.

I think Barry will be allowed to leave, if he wishes, and McCarthy stays. As I understand it McCarthy is not injured but the coaching staff are being very careful about bringing him back to full fitness.

We already have too many midfielders. I can't understand the logic in keeping him even if Barry leaves.

McCarthy looks like an ever present compared to Besic , I don't think we can rely on him with his injury record.

That would leave us with Gueye, Schneiderlin,Davies and Klaasen and that isn't enough.
I know there is a lot of talk about McCarthy leaving, but I think he is a player Koeman would like to keep.

It will be interesting to see if he joins up with Ireland or stays away.

Four players for two positions..

He's more likely to sell McCarthy than Besic because the former cost us a fair bit of cash and is probably on higher wages, and will have a decent resale value. Besic we wouldn't get much for but he can do a job and sit on the bench for us.

Gueye, Davies, and Klaasen are all rarely injured and aside from last season Schnedierlin has been pretty consistent with staying fit.

Keeping McCarthy doesn't make sense.

He doesn't hate Everton at all, but he loves Martin O'Neill deeply and Ron is jealous. I would much rather that this love triangle was not played out publicly, but that is the way of things these days.
