James Return

I'd take him back.
Sure he took some stupid pics when the club had given him permission to be away.
I can't believe how many fans got bent out of shape about this. If we ever want to win anything, we've got to get used to primadonnas who are not constantly thinking "will this photo of me having a good time [Poor language removed] the gwladys st. fans"
He was a joy to watch last season and for me, that's what football is about.
A young Rooney, Lukaku, Rodrigues.
He might have issues but he's why I watch the game.
It was only 12 months ago where he unpicked liverpool at anfield, then got treated shamefully by Benitez and still fans are pissed off because he posted a photo smiling on a plane when he was allowed to be smiling on a plane.
Some of our fans are awful sensitive.
phew, there... got that off my chest.

Would have him back in a heartbeat! Better than the players we have by a mile. For those of us who look at the fixtures remaining and wonder where points are coming from, he would add the wild card factor that would make any game winnable. When he plays he reliably gets or makes goals, why wouldn't that be good for us!

As I have already said, Rafael is waiting until the summer unless an interim job comes up at a big club.

He's already had interest overseas.

James had all summer to move. No one was interested in him due to his wages.
This the Turkish club you mentioned the day after he was sacked? ?

Had all summer? Maybe he wanted to see how it played out and see whether he stood a chance of benitez not being a stubborn oaf. Unfortunately, benitez was just that.

The suggestion about wages is just conjecture. What was reported when he signed was vastly different to when he left, when they were trying to validate why he needed to leave. If he was more bothered about wages rather than playing and he was on what you suggest he was, he wouldn't have agreed to leave.

the problem we have got with these fanboys who seem to love an ""insta player" is that we wont be able to pay their wages "to come home" and do their 1 in 5 "I will show how good I am" game.

Sadly for the fanboys - they will have to learn how to love Anthony Gordon or Demarai Gray working their socks off for the shirt.

Cant blame Rafael for everything kids - Digne is stinking the gaff out over at Villa park and James is playing a fraction of the games he's paid for in one of the worst leagues in the world.

obviously if the club cant afford him they should swerve him.
and wanting to see James back does not equate to not loving Gordon or Gray.
But you already know that.

If he loves us that much he'll pay us for the privilege to represent our famous Blue jersey once again. I bet he's pining for the likes of Jonjoe Kenny and Tom Davies now since he's surrounded by even bigger no-marks in the Syrian league or wherever he is.

Of course he would agree to leave when his team in Qatar are paying him a bit more than what he was on here.

He'd definitely be an asset but he's also incredibly injury prone and was on staggering wages when our finances are already problematic, so I'd pass. We need a more mobile younger player in the vein of james

Maybe it's all clickbait but anybody want to offer a thought on the report that James would welcome a return to Everton now he must not be named has gone? He was one of the most sublime footballers I've ever seen play for us, although he missed too many games - he was never quite the same after St Virgil crushed his nuts in the derby.

Even then, it was deeply frustrating that the fat one was playing a clearly unfit Rondon ahead of him and seemed to want James out from the start. What if he would return on a lower wage? We could certainly do with some creativity at the moment. Him and Dele both firing in the same team would be something to get excited about, wouldn't it?

One of the most sublime footballers you’ve ever seen play for us? And he was never quite the same after that Derby (his 6th game for us!)?
