Not many clubs pay the sort of fees we’re talking about or the sort of wages those players are on. Not many teams of lesser standing than us could afford Pickford, not many of higher standing would want him. It’s the exact same issue we currently have with unwanted players, the likes of tosun are theoretically worth £15m+ easily, but nobody will pay it.

There are plenty of clubs that pay those values.

this isn’t 10 years ago. This year is affected For obvious reasons but sheff United are spending 19m on a keeper. 20m ain’t what it used to be.
