We have had 231 international players. For the last 20 years or so scousers typically haven’t been big fans of England. For a while, our best young players would go away on international duty and have their heads turned by players from Utd etc (see Wayne Rooney for example)

Add to that our players always get injured on international duty (such as Coleman).

One of my fave goals was when Riquelme was at Villarreal, he was one on one with the keeper inside the box, faked a shot and squared it for Forlan to pass into an empty net, sounds so simple but many players would've tried to score their self. He didn't, he laid it off to ensure the goal. That is what I see when James is on the 18 yard box and chips it for someone to run onto, rather than trying to blast it home.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that he will travel back to Colombia for internationals, we knew that when he signed for us.
All clubs have this problem.
Even if the club pay the wages, the national team should be respected - I get paid by my employer but they don’t run my life (anymore!)
