Yes, I live in Niterói, a city next to Rio de Janeiro, separated by a bridge. I'm a fan of Fluminense, the club where Richarlison played before going to England. The fans of Fluminense LOVE Richarlson and we are very grateful to him, for his dedication to our club. And Richarlison always showed affection and gratitude for Fluminense. He is a person of great character. His start at Fluminense was not good, he had difficulties making goals and was criticized a lot. When asked if he was thinking about changing clubs, he said, "No, I'm going to train more and I'm going to win at this club!" And he did it. He improved a lot and little by little it became our biggest idol. And answering about the Premier League, YES !! The Premier League is VERY popular in Brazil, among fans and the Brazilian press.
I have a fluminese shirt from when I watched them at the maracana v Quito in the Copa libertatores in 2008

We finally have our Riquelme. I remember watching Villarreal at Goodison and watching him, every time he got the ball the space he was in. How almost every pass either kept the ball ticking over or put us on the back foot. Competent players around him and he gets that extra bit out of them

I had the chance to see Riquelme several times in the stadium playing for Boca against Racing, always a pleasure to watch

Still can't believe how Bielsa didn't call him for the 2002 World Cup

Why didn’t he call him up? Wasn’t there rumours that he didn’t train or did very little? I saw him both legs here then over at Villarreal. I’ve seen some excellent players at Goodison over the years and on their day they may have been better then Riquelme but he’s still the best player I've ever seen live

I made several friends from Fluminense in 2018 when we traveled to Rio for a Vasco Da Gama - Racing in Sao Januario ... the stadium area looked like something out of a horror movie. We had a few beers before the game with some Fluminense fans who came to support Racing against their rivals, top lads.

That day there were riots with the police, which as always happened in Brazil was very violent with the Argentine fans

The same rumours that he had with Van Gaal in Barcelona

Yes it is likely that he wasn't 100% delivered in training and in the defensive phase, but he was such an intelligent player and with so much technique that only by walking through the pitch it was enough for him to always be better than the rest

What a man lol

I go back to the mid 70s and I've not seen as good a pure footballer here. Not somebody with his vision and ability.

How about you older guys? How does Alan Ball and Alex Young compare to our new maestro?
I said in an earlier post that he is as close as I have seen to Alex Young but doesn't head the ball as well ,Alan Ball was like him and Allan rolled together all the skill and all the workrate of the both together.

@Barnfred 55 For me, SO FAR !! more effective than Young who could flatter to deceive, was frequently absent and didn't do well away from home (and never scored against the Reds). Different type of player to Bally: nothing like as busy, may not have the same influence over the team's mentality but has at least as good passing ability. If he can put in a dozen goals, it's damned close.

I get that. But it seems as if this club before NT priority is almost exclusive to English fans across all the club fanbases. That's the part I don't get. I'm not critizising here, I hate international breaks as much as the next guy but I'd really like to understand the apathy English fans have for their NT

the England System is still in thrall to the media
They’re stuck in this idea of ‘ooh if we make it to the QF playing stodgy safety first everyone can be happy’
It’s not a winning formula and it doesn’t get anyone excited
I’d love for them to stick in a young manager with something to prove but it’s never going to happen
We just get the English moyes time and time again

So basically if we beat the RS in 2 weeks and he scores, he gets your vote (over Young at least).

That's OK with me

Same here. He was walking round holding 3 players off at a time spraying the ball everywhere.

I agree about Alex but too early to say Hameez is more effective after so few matches in truth .He could get injured and he might not score against them so a bit premature for me .Saying that I hope you are right and he is even better for the team than Bally was in fact i hope he is the best ever -win win .
