I watched the game on an American stream. Don't know who the British co commentator was but after James first goal he said "you can question his work rate and his ability but you can't question his technique".Wtf?
FWIW I think Upson said “you can question his mobility and work rate”.
They’re not in question from what I’ve seen, or don’t need to be, look at what he does! Anyway, let these peckers keep underrating him, he’ll prove them all wrong anyway.

They've always gotta put stuff like that out because we aint one of the media darlings so we need belittling. It cant possibly be that we have appointed one of the worlds best managers and as a consequence of that have now signed a world class playmaker. He must be faulty. Just like Carlo failed at Napoli.

People get so obsessed with workrate and pace.

That is how Lucas Vazquez ended up playing ahead of James. Freaking Lucas Vazquez.

James is not a high work rate guy, but he is not lazy either. He is often in our own half defending and knows when to disrupt the attacks. He is smart when it comes to defending instead of running around like a headless chicken

You can. I can only assume this is done so that people who cant understand what their own eyes can see, have something to say about a game.

We’re all different and can enjoy different aspects of the game.

Gawd knows my posting history shows I’m not shy at offering my comments during a match lol but I’m a data nerd at heart and so after a good game I enjoy looking at various stats, pass maps etc just as much as match highlights.

I find they enrich the experience for me - helping me see what one player had done who I might have overlooked whilst either sleepy/chatting bubbles/concentrating on a different player or being able to put in context one who I got unduly annoyed about because of a howler so distorted their overall performance.

I appreciate they aren’t for everyone and can be overdone but I get a kick out of them anyway!

I know this might be controversial but maybe having no fans is the perfect setting for players to gell. Like it’s staggering count Doucou, Allan and James have dropped into the midfield and are playing comfortably like they know each other years. Never seen anything like it. It’s unique and the conditions they are playing in is unique. It’s my only conclusion.

With fans mate I honestly think the results would have been

Spurs 0-3 Everton
Everton 11-2 West Brom
Palace 1-3 Everton
Everton 19-2 Brighton

Ive thought long and hard and the conclusion I've come to is that we would have snotted everyone even more lol
