I don't even think he needs to do a thing defensively. The amount of chances he creates per game (directly or opens up the play) would even see WBA grab more than 1 win in the last 7 (is it?) games.
And then you have the comical relief that is the back line that concedes goals from right about anywhere on the pitch. Everton are starting each game with a goal deficit from the kick off.

It’s worth it to carry him defensively as long as we are putting away chances. Not scoring and it becomes a problem.

I looked at this briefly. He had 1 interception and 2 successful tackles. He also had 5 unsuccessful tackles but tbf you can't say he isn't tracking back based on that even if he isn't totally effective at it.
