I have heard people say he has had a lot of injuries throughout his career, is this true? If so are we now seeing the trend continue here? Hope not, we need his beautiful footballing brain on the pitch.

Thing is we look a lot more solid at the minute. Whether it's because we've changed the system or the back 4 have bedded in I'm not sure
It's because we went to a back four again. Even some of the games where the perception is we didn't defend well, such as Southampton, we were way better in the back four during than say Leeds or Fulham.

Missed him in the first half today when I thought when we needed that killer pass or bit of invention to break Arsenal down. Weird to say that when we still went in a goal to the good, should have been two but for a silly pen.

Has to compete to get back in the side and strikes me as the kind of player who will raise his game to prove himself. How exciting is that

We've shown we can live without him, that we can win without him. For that reason alone, I don't think we need to chance him like we did previously when we knew he wasn't 100%. Playing him while he was injured cost us points (in as much as he was unfit and played, and we lost), while with 11 assumedly fully fit players we've just gone 9/9 points. I hope this leads to wiser decisions being made about when to use him in the future. Of course when we're the favourite to win and he's fit then he needs to be the first name on the teamsheet, but he doesn't need to be included every time he's available.
