You need to be fit to play...

Don't buy this 50% fit then he plays rubbish...

Get him fit then ease him back into the team...

He's brilliant but I can't help but worry about the defence when he's back. The right side took a beating earlier in the season even when we'd outscore our opponents.

I’d prefer him for Sheffield then against these when we will need someone to pick a lock

Sheff Utd

Without wanting to echo that dwarf Wilder, you wouldn't call Man Utd or Man City 'Manchester' ;)

Agree with the sentiment though. We can probably afford to be more counter-attacking against Utd. I mean, he'd help with that, too, but the onus will definitely be on us on Boxing Day.

I often call them Sheffield, because there’s only one Sheffield in the league.

The reason why it’s fine to call them Sheffield is the same reason why it’s fine to call Manchester United ‘United’. It’s because it’s blatantly obvious who you’re talking about.

Respectfully I disagree. Two clubs in Sheffield , both United and Wednesday , although the latter haven't been in the top division for a bit. Got a few mates over there.

There are two clubs in Sheffield but that’s not really the point. There’s only one in the league we’re playing in so it’s obvious who the lad was referring to.

The argument that you can’t call them Sheffield because you wouldn’t call Man City ‘Manchester’ is daft.

It's a real, completely irrational I admit, pet hate of mine, but it isn't right. In fact, they should actually be referred to as 'United' (over 'Sheffield', that is), unless they're playing another United!

I know it's a weird one, because we'd call Newcastle 'Newcastle' and Leeds 'Leeds', but when it's a two-club City, it shouldn't be done that way.

It's also a bit like how Inter should never be called 'Inter Milan' (that'd be like calling us 'Everton Liverpool').

Get that it's done as a shorthand thing and really, it matters very little. Just when you're used to writing and subbing content, it gets hard to ignore :D

Anyway, I hope James is fit to play Sheff Utd...

We're still doing this?

We were fine defensively for 4 games. Starting with the RS we were exposed in the middle because no one was covering Allan when he went to win the ball. That was also the problem against Saints and United. Then Carlo went to a 3 man back that no one in our squad knows how to play and that gave us issues.

The last 3 games are back to what the first 4 were. A solid team that is fine defensively aside from a horrid goalkeeper. The only difference is without James we aren't going to score nearly as much.

Not sure about "still" - haven't been on this forum much through quarantine tbf mate, just been watching the games. Not sure what the discourse is like around James off the ball. Very open to being wrong, I just vividly remember us being worse off defensively with him in the team, Coleman getting up and down without defensive support etc, despite being electric going forward. If I'm wrong for those reasons you laid out fair enough and I hope that's the case.
