The conclusion would be that his inclusion has been negligible if that's true? Have you got any proof of that?

There was a period when we had some very poor form, when our right hand side was being targeted. I don't want to see that happen again tbh.

I just want Everton's form to be maximised, whatever it entails. I don't want our form to suffer for any reason, and that includes people falling in love or nepotism.
You don't win a trophy for 2nd place so that isn't negligible.

Nobody is going to take this argument with you seriously because James is very, very good and suggesting we're better without is very, very silly.

I think he'll be coming back in, even from the bench initially, to a much stronger unit than when his injury forced him out. Doucoure, Godfrey, Keane and, when fit again, Allan are in very good form. Even Sigurdsson and Davies showed their best sides latterly v Sheff Utd even too. Maybe Im selfish/childish or both having been shut indoors for the last bleedin 9 months, but just as I loved it as a teenager when Duncan McKenzie was named in the team at the ground, I get the same rush with James.

People really need to start doing a better job looking beyond just results. Yeah we've won some games but our play has been average and it could fall apart quickly if we don't play better.

If it was true over 38 games then I would agree, the difference would be significant. If the claim is based on three games then it would be negligible, which is why I asked for the proof in which you are making your claim?

I'm not against anything that strengthen's Everton, I'm all for anything that strengthens Everton.

Everton weren't strong during that period in which our right had side was being targeted. A period in which James was playing. We were poor. If you are going to ascribe league places to that period, then it would be between 15th and 20th place, not 1st or 2nd. So this is clearly something we want to avoid reoccurring.

Our defence has become much stronger. It has gone from conceding at least a goal a game to constant clean sheets, other than one penalty. That is not average play at all. It shows a massive improvement in our defensive play. It's the type of defensive record that a title winning side has.

Defense has improved because we've basically stopped attacking. We're only a bit of tough luck away from 1-0 against Chelsea being 1-1 or 2-1 against Arsenal being 2-2. I'm not saying we didn't deserve to win but we've gone from attempting to really beat teams like we did early in the year or even like we did against Fulham and Burnley despite the draw to playing very tight games where a shot or two sneaking inside the post changes things. I personally think when you play that game it only can last so long.

I mean tight game where we needed to win the big moments to win was basically the entire Marco Silva game plan and we saw how that can swing from very good in the spring of 2019 to very bad by the fall.

But we have James and with James we've dominated a bunch of games to the point that we aren't relying on luck at all. We didn't have it at all against Brighton or West Brom and still won comfortably for example. We need to do that and not what we did against Sheffield United. So honestly this last four game run is a massive blessing but only if we get our good players back and get back to winning handily as that will let us push to the CL.

We were drawing 2-2 against West Brom until one of their midfielders needlessly got themselves sent off. Then we gave then the run around.

Marco Silva's game plan was to concede goals at set pieces in order to lose games and take us into the relegation zone.

We haven't stopped attacking. We aren't seeing Fat Sam football at play.

It was 1-1 but we were well, well on top before Gibbs went.

It isn't that bad but we aren't a million miles away either. We've created excruciatingly little from open play in the last 4 league games. It is basically the DCL header against Arsenal that ended in an OG, the DCL one off the long ball from Keane against SHU and then Sigurdsson's goal in that game. That's really kind of it from 4 games.

Said this before but James has to do more...

Not been fit all season & has cost us...

Needs to return when fully fit & for me he starts on the bench...

Think he may never be fully fit & become injury prone all season with repeat injuries to old tears & strains...

Only seen flashes of his brilliance so far this season & alas that might be all we see this season...

I know it won't be popular, but what is popular is not always right & what is right is not always popular...

So we conceded further against 10 men then. Richarlison, Holgate, Mina and Sigurdsson have all scored in our last four league games ending a terrible winless period of form and shooting us up the league table.
