We need a Rodriguez-lite who can step into the side when he's not available next season.

Next season they'll be longer between most games so hopefully we'll see him fit more. If he has better player's around him - one's with pace - then even better.

And this is Everton we’re talking about. Efficient planning doesn’t come into play. We’ve needed a new rightback for about 4 years.

James is incredibly injury prone and is only getting older whilst here.

It would be ridiculous having him as a pivotal player and equally ridiculous to pay a big wage to someone who is so unreliable.

he is on 140 a week. alot, but half of what the top premier league earners take.
Basically he is also a big name that will make coming to Everton attractive. Godfrey will possibly turn out to be the best signing of last seasons window, but he isnt going to excite potential south American internationals or sell any shirts or sponsorship overseas
