James had played 10 seasons of football before joining us... 7 league victories, 3 runners-up. Poor fella finishing 10th doesn't know what has hit him.

Pretty wild that some people want him to travel to Manchester City and sit there cheering the team on. I thought we laughed at Liverpool when they brought VVD on the sidelines just for the derby. That's the very definition of creating propaganda.

Footballers have tight schedules. If he's injured and can't play of course he should be freed up to do personal stuff. Sitting him at Man City, just so Evertonians can see he's committed, is ridiculous. The fact that he took a salary cut, playing outside the top 6 clubs, took on a smaller contract in a country where he struggles with the language shows exactly how committed he is.

I think it’s more disappointing that he missed the last home game of the season, than the City game.

Fans haven’t seen him, all he had to do was turn up, do a lap, then get off.

More part of the problem than the solution I’m afraid to say. He was dreadful in his last few performances btw.

Think the biggest thing to take from the second half of this season is that he can't be relied upon. His talent is there for everyone to see but him being able to deliver consistently at this level seems too big of an ask. We can't be so reliant on him again.
