Davek has a point. We really should’ve played Bernard or Iwobi instead.
No. We should have signed a clas player who plays 40 odd games a season.

Is that impossible and we have to gamble on handing a fortune to a player we are guaranteed to see every other game?

So he's not playing, which is good, but we're mad because it's not his choice not to play? Is that right?

I think some a fuming cos they think he's pick and choosing when he wants to play. Now the Columbian national team coaches have binned him off for not being fit enough, it's blew up their narrative.

All combines to prove that Carlo treated him with care in the most demanding league in world football

Haha just reading back a few pages. What's happened is he's turned up for Colombia, said he's happy to play when he wants to play - one qualifier and maybe the tournament depending on what side of bed he rolls out of that morning - exactly as he's did to us, and they've said "nah sod off, you're either fit or not".

Good on them.

Not sure why James is disappointed about being excluded from the Colombian squad. Now he gets to spend a lot more time with the daughter that he was so desperate to be with after not seeing her for a year or so. Enjoy every moment you have with her James, time passes so quickly and they grow up all too soon.

I am delighted he is not going to be playing in Copa. One because of the Karma for thinking he is bigger than Everton (Which he probably is tbf but no need to brag about it ffs lid lol ) and two because it was an absolute nap that he would have picked up an injury later on in that tournament or would be too fatigued again and end up missing the first part of the new season, that is assuming he is still an Everton player then.

He might get a better offer from Benson's for Beds or the like before then.

That's the opposite of what happened.

He was injured at season end for Everton. When Everton fans thought he was choosing not to play, he was not fit . He knew he couldn't make the last two fixtures and agreed with Carlo to finish rehab in Colombia and try to get healthy for the Copa America.

He failed his medical this week. He is still hasn't recovered from the injury you are accusing him of faking. He tried desperately to argue that while failing his medical they should keep him in the call up as he might make the second qualifier and probably the Copa (which doesn't start for 2 and a half weeks). They told him no, and he's devastated. If he were fit, remotely, they would have played or kept him in - therefore, he was never faking or choosing when to play.

The guy wants to play. Likely had no idea his picture on plane would be taken as it was because he didn't realize fans thought he was faking injury. Now has gone and made things worse by publicly outing his discord with the new coaching staff at Colombia.

James needs much better guidance on his media/communication choices:

- Should have shown up in stands for final home game at Goodison
- Should have held up his picture on plane or not shared at all until after season.
- Should have kept discord with new Colombia NT coaches in house

Total mess and unnecessary.

Not sure why there’s bad blood against James. He’s our best player by a million miles. He’s played through the pain barrier numerous times this season to try and do stuff in games for us. Let a be honest he’s the only one of the midfielders/wingers who really made an impact in the big games especially the two derbies and United away.

So he wasn’t fit for the last few games of the season and he wanted to give himself the best chance of being fit for Colombia. Wouldn’t anyone else do the same? Not sure why some call it karma because Colombia have made the choice they have.

If only all our players had the quality and desire to win if James then we wouldn’t be in the mess we’re in. He’s done more in a handful of games this season, even at half fitness, than Gomes Davies Bernard or Iwobi have done in their entire careers with us.
