The Echo has reported all of these values, they just report what the club tells them to, they gave up on "journalism" decades ago. People in here quote whatever figure suits their agenda. If I were to bet on it, I would guess he's on somewhere nearer the bottom end on guaranteed salary and near the top estimate with bonuses (appearance fee, goals, assists etc..) but who knows?

If James salary requirements were not as high as they are at the moment there will be other teams wanting him, but I recognize his current salary is too high given his injury record so that's why he is not wanted not because they lad has not talent. I can assure you next season that he has no contract in place there will be teams going after him.

They probably do not say so explicitly, but it is probably one of several factors. Rafael has been quite clear on that before when it comes to JR, and in modern football you have to have players who can withstand the workload and intensity - especially in PL.

I suppose the actual figure doesn't really matter. Getting paid £90k or £200k per week should be enough cause for 'motivation;'. I like him and would be made up if he stays and actually plays, but cannot see that happening for various reasons.

Perhaps is not a good excuse but James has plenty of dough, some of his marketing contracts make him more money than football so what he needs is that extra confidence from the manager for motivation, at least that's my take.
