They also think it's fine to be actively looking to move him on now, when we have our two best attackers injured, and had Gomes and Gordon to try and come on and change the game for us yesterday.

On the 17th of Oct, he was injured playing against Liverpool which resulted in him being treated from Oct 18th to Oct 24th.
Everyone thought it was Carlo mind games but it wasn't. He came back to play against Southampton on Oct 25th, he was still carrying the injury, and the decision to play him backfired and resulted in the groin injury flaring up and he was out from Oct 26 to Nov 6. This period of him having the groin injury from VVD tackle coincided with us losing three on the bounce.
The calf injury occurred after the Burnley game and resulted in him being out from Dec 6th to Dec 31st (25 days). This calf problem was not treated properly and recurred causing him to be laid up from Feb 7th to Feb 13th and then again with the same calf injury from Feb 22nd to Apr 1st (38 days). I think people just need to accept that maybe he just doesn't want to be here.
People need to move on. He's not in our long term plans. It's tiresome and becoming a weekly distraction.
I accept it. But while we can't replace him that means that we're weakening our squad.
Our players weren't distracted yesterday, they just weren't good enough. And that's the problem.

Hes not going to be used by the manager. That's the long and short of it.
These arguments for keeping him are illogical. We have Benitez as manager. A replacement is not needed for a player a manager will not pick.
And I go back to the fact that I dont think hes wanted to be here since Ancelotti left.
We can have this debate every week but it changes none of the facts. I dont like it but we are where we are. The lad needs to play and it won't happen here. Nor can we afford a player on very high wages who a manager does not rate.
How is that reality?
We've been told by Benitez that he and James agreed not to play. If he is 'jetting around', and it's coinciding with rumours that we're trying to ship him off, wouldn't be that exactly what you want him to be doing? As in, jetting off to his next team?
