2021/22 James Rodriguez

I think it’s fair to say that James hasn’t covered himself in glory over the past few months.

In fact I think he has done the ‘mercenary footballer’ contingent no favours at all.
He is a classic example.
A complete and utter waste of talent…..but with it comes a hefty bank balance.
Hope he looks back with a tinge of regret when he hangs his boots up.

I regard Lukaku as one of the best post war strikers we ever had. I do not blame him for leaving for a bigger club, more money, European football etc. I am glad he is doing well at Chelsea and will always think fondly of him.

Best I ever saw by far anyway. I have never felt one bit of animosity towards him since he left. When players do the business here and make me happy, then I'm always going to like them. Feel the same with Fellaini.

I think his leaving was smoothed by him being pretty poor at Manchester United, too. He had the decency to wait until he was at the next club after that before stepping up a level.

Yeah had no problem with either of them leaving. Especially Lukaku when it became apparent we weren’t going to turn into City overnight - he must have been made a lot of promises which didn’t come to fruition.

Fellaini is pretty much the poster boy for how you behave when you want a move (Gana is up there too)

Never downed tools, essentially forfeited his loyalty bonus in order to provide the club a greater cut of money and also cup tied himself to come on and enter an important performance in his last game

Would rather we kept him but getting him off the wage bill and maybe a fee before January may allow Brands enough time to scout a new right back in time for Jan when hes only had 3 years but at least he may have a few more funds to work with.

Gutted we never got to see him live but thats that. At least we have Gray as an attacker who can help with goals and is actually exciting to watch. I am replacing my Rodriguez poster in my bedroom with Gray as we speak. Wife wont be too pleased but she can get stuffed.
