There's a reason we were able to sign him. There's a reason why only bottom of the league in Turkey, and a team in Qatar want him.

His wages are the issue. Only clubs that we would have to subsidise his wages for were interested. But look, he's gone now and as long as Everton aren't paying someone of his quality to play for them, then it is what it is.

not at all, it's exactly like the Theo situation. Its still worth our while to get someone like him off the wage bill. If you asked Benitez I 'm sure he'd pay up his contract right now, as he doesn't want him hanging around, and has no use for him with the system he plays.

No mate, if Everton are paying James Rodriguez to play for somebody else (a Qatari team, no less) when we've got a front four of Rondon, Iwobi, Gray and Townsend, then it's madness.

If that's the same place that provides the info that goes to the premier league app, it is not reliable. I have quoted stats from there before which were proved wrong so that's personal experience.

We should never be happy that good players leave Everton, for whatever reason.

We should never be happy that Everton are in a financial position so bad that they are willing to let a player go when they can't sign anybody for three months.

Look at our attacking options for the next 3 weeks.

Rondon - isn't fit, is 32, just isn't that good (fine as a back up forward)
Townsend - will never question his work ethic and has occasional moments of quality. But he's just bang average.
Gray - yes, a very good signing given what we paid and had a great start. Consistency has been his failing so far so let's hope this time he kicks on.
