He will probably leave this club , that is not a reflection on his unquestionable talent & ability but down to a pig headed manager who wants to make a statement and fools like you can say I told you so.Neither is suited to this club - sell one/both and bring in a proper winger with pace who can pass/cross but also put in a shift.
Common sense post you need the right blends, different players compliment each other, tactics change against different team. One cap doesn’t fit all scenarios. We’ve become obsessed with runners, grafters but nothing moves quicker than the ball and a great player regardless how slow will always have time as James shown last season. He will be important in some matches and maybe not the fit in others. Zidane wasn’t blessed with Pace but there isn’t a player in the premier that could hold a candle to him. Football is so much more than running around fast.I think people don’t know the meaning of the word balance
balance doesn’t mean all runners
it means having different kind of players with different skill sets and contributions. There is absolutely no one at the club that can do what James does. Actually very few players in the world can do what he does best. So having him actually offers balance. Some matches you are better off without him, some with him starting, some with him off the bench.
but you don’t get better by getting rid of him.

In all fairness that's why I referenced the 2nd halfHe would have made a big difference in the first half when we were absolutely gash mate.

Agree with all you say. However I'd never have posted this last season when even after the great start we made I'd a gut feeling we'd flop in a big way and Carlo would leave. This year feels different, even if we don't match Carlos's 10th spot (which I'm certain we will). Early days without a doubt but we've now a manager who wants to be here and on first impressions wants to build a tough and steely unit with guts and a bit of flair. Also I repeat, James can be world class but just not sure he fits in to how we intend to fight it out for results this season, and I maintain he earns too much to be a bench warmer and an injury room regular sadly. You make some good points but fans are generally disregarding that he provided any spark last season as if he was a total waste of space when in reality he was our most influential player largely when he played. He might not be the right fight in a scrap of a game but he could be the dig fence in a tight game against Top opposition. Scored a worldy at Old Trafford set up the winner at Anfield and people forget how unbelievably good he was at the start of last season. Nobody has a crystal ball but if you posted this after the Brighton game last year you would have been laughed off the forum.
Ironically, Iwobi looked inspired yesterday, so with the benefit of hindsight…Lets just end this here buddy.
When Townsend came off , who would you rather see coming on in that position yesterday Iwobi or James ?
You have made some fair and valid points, I just think James has been a little unfairly dismissed considering he made a telling contribution last season.Agree with all you say. It's a tough one mate isn't it? I'd love him here in different circumstances. You have made some fair and valid points, I just think James has been a little unfairly dismissed considering he made a telling contribution last season.
