if the plan B relies on doucure.... dear god... despite his last game , he is still god awful with the ball, 1 good game wont change this, doucure is pretty mediocre and offers zero inside game.

ive said in other posts, 2021 everton is about crossing it to DCL/richy (who is a pretty good header) , non header shots will come from rebounds or fast breaks, dont ever xpec a 1-2 combination on the inside or a forward pass try defenses to leave 1 v1 the strikers it just wont happen. once the opposition figures out everton unidemensional cross fest it will be hard to score agaist em.

You're talking as if the window has closed. IMO we'll see attacking options by the time it has. And if there isn't we'll see enough pushing up in attack to profit from crosses and winning the ball around the box if its cleared, just as we saw oin Saturday.

Against all but the elite clubs that will be enough tlo get most of the points.

We need patience. Benitez will be able to add to our options next season.

ppl were coming back after a long time, of course they would be happy.. BUT winning normally hides flaws, sometimes critical flaws.

ive analized the game, and i can recall a gazillion crosses and .. well nothing more. every team NEEDS a plan b , wich at the moment seems not there. no combination football, not even mid distance shots (face it , doucures goal was a super fluke , the poor man lost track of the ball and just let it go... nice goal) , pure straight crosses , many of em withouth winning the final line , wich mean more frontal and easy crosses for the defenses to clear.

benitez needs to find a plan b and IMO doucure is NOT an option.

If the squad stays as it is James would be first choice in about half the games for me. I would rest and rotate him and keep teams guessing as to how we are going to play. He would a RW in 4-3-3 a number 10 in 4-2-3-1 or an option from the bench. If we don't over use him he will potentially be available for more games.

Well we all haven’t had a crowd for more than 500 days and the best atmosphere I remember in years was the Chelsea game Duncan was manager for .

look the manager won his first game and honestly I’m delighted but let’s keep stuff in perspective, Leeds crowd will be up for it massively so that’s a real test .

It's both, Dave.

We've told him he's welcome to go if we get an offer in. He's happy to leave but if no offer comes in he'll stay. In the latter instance, he simply has to be used.

Doesn't mean use him every game. Doesn't mean use him from the start in every game and doesn't mean you build a team around him.

Have him as the very tasty, good looking cherry on top of a solid cake. Not the entire cake.
