Perhaps mate but scored three brilliant goals in the 2nd half of the season which if not for mistakes by other players in 2 of those games would have resulted in us getting Europe - those goals (v Leicester and Palace) were two goals none of our other players would come close to scoring, which is why I’ve singled them out

I agree with you he’s happy to go mate. I also think if a move doesn’t materialise he’d stay. But I’m not absolving the club of responsibility because we’ve clearly told him we ideally want him gone (and that’s on us because we give genuine tosh massive wages)

Whatever your views on Benitez he clearly has 10 outfield players very organised and hard working. I fail to see how James can fit into that system and therefore totally understand why Benitez has told him to find a new club.

I might not agree with it but the reasoning is sound.

James will upset the balance and it will become about playing around him, last thing we need right now is an ego in the way of progress.
Rafael has this one spot on if he has told him to go, it's why we need an experienced manager who can read the squad like a book.

I hope James stays. I wouldn't rely on him but him coming off the bench could be a game changer. For me Plan A has to be Townsend as he will be more reliable however a player like this to come off the bench or start when the time is right is perfect.
