Last point on this as it’s getting boring
There are numerous Evertonians that the club actively sold/got rid of
A club can release who they want when they want but a player can’t leave??
Or have the better players got to stay??
No, mate. Everyone who thinks Everton is not good enough for him and doesn't want to play for the club is free to leave.

Anyway, we are off topic and it's better to stop here.

No it's not. If you are a hero and a millionnaire, who cares what you could have done in a star studded Man Utd side?

Players like Rooney are building blocks that make your club grow more succesfull. They attract other great players, deliver higher commercial revenue, they make Everton a more national product.
In 2004 there was little difference between Liverpool and Everton. They had Igor Biscan and Bruno Cheyrou.

But Gerrard stayed and Rooney left and that was that...

You are deluded, sorry.

Five seven and five!
spelling is not important
syllables are though.

Four in the first line
is not the way to do it
Haiku does not work.
meh, I was tired and saying played as two syllables in my head - blame my public school education

Rooney had to be sold. We were skint. We had Kenwright in charge as well. Levy wouldn't of accepted that deal.

when I was young, growing up in the NZ countryside, good family friends living nearby were the Trombik's. Jim, (the dad) had emigrated from Czechoslavakia and spoke in heavily accented English. He always made an extra syllable with the past tense 'ed'...for example, he would pronounce 'happened' as 'happen-ned'...or 'played' as 'play-yed'.
Anyway, long story short; if Jim had read your haiku, he would have read it as a 5 syllable opening line.

I hope that makes you feel a little better

You are contradicting the situation slightly, yes we were skint, desperate and about to go under by some accounts - meaning we didn’t have much bargaining power. You suggesting in the same situation Levy would reject a deal and let the club fold?
