The one and only thing Lampard got right, identifying more robust players. He's been a colossus this season proper old school centre back.

Player of the season, comfortably for me which isnt a knock on other players like Pickford who has been oustanding, Gray who has really put an effort in and McNeill who has absolutely turned his season around. It's a compliment to Tarky.

Love that he's

Robust centre half.
Strong/Powerful.
Not bad on the ball.
Old school defender, defending first.
Doesn't shy from a tackle.
Backs up his teammates every single time when he has to.

Clear POTY for me. Shows that relegated players (Pickford also) can be top class despite their teams failures.

Pretty much what he was at Burnley. This time last year I think the move first broke and I was surprised by the amount of negativity directed at his name when he was first linked and then signed.

Key now is to source a younger CB to learn and develop alongside him. That's in addition to Braithwaite hopefully getting a chance aswell.

Often the unsung hero. Along with Pickford, he's been a model of consistency this season, and his stats speak for themselves: most blocks, and second most clearances, of any defender in the PL.

Yeah very impressed with him overall, not the worlds greatest centre half but his attitude is superb.
