tbh i agree with martinez. january is a poor time to buy players value wise which given our limited budget makes it wiser to save most for the summer window. however I think he should look into possible loans and smaller $1-2 mil deals for players with little left on their contract
To be honest, if Atsu hadn't been a total flop and we had better luck with injuries, I'm not sure I'd even want us to make any major additions in January. Bargains are rare in this window and you risk unsettling a dressing room by bringing people in mid-season. Now if there is a steal to be had, by all means go for it but I don't think we should be desperate to add a major piece.

If we get three players in, (a loan, a cheap squad CB/winger, and a promising teenager a la Stones/Galloway) I'd be well satisfied.

Read somewhere he is headed to Wolfsburg. TBH if that is the price for him I'd do everything possible to get him, he's easily worth twice that.
would be a good fit at wolfsburg tbh although i agree he'd be quality here if we made a bid

They sign some boss players wolfsburg.

Excluding Bendtner

Or Perisic becomes available? Teams only need one winger at a time judging by Evertons team dont they?
If he's available for a bargain price, sure, but most fees are inflated in January. That's why I say I'd make an exception for Shaqiri because £10m is a fraction of his true value imo.
