Whatever happened to us being linked to good value Spaniards, Hondurans, Ecuadorans, Costa Ricans and everyone else when he became manager?

Yea because the fashion models, food and weather must be horrible. I think a top professional footballer might have a different experience than you.

Seriously, the majority of players only care about the money they get paid. If you pay them enough they will play on the Sahara.

Just look at the amount of Brazilians in Russia, they are not there for the weather, I can guarantee that.

That I think is over our budget
If it is, it's not over by much.

I'd say that's not an outlandish wage and if we could offload Alcaraz or Gibson for a couple of million we could free up some wage space and pay for some of the transfer fee. Rotation of Stones, Jags and Reid, with Distin as #4 and Browning maybe going out on loan for a month or two would be pretty good - remember in our last game we had Barry and Alcaraz combining to form the slowest CB pair ever seen.

We need to beat WHU tomorrow to show Reid we're a step up. And the minute the final whistle goes two or three of our lads should be having a word as they all leave the field - "it would be great to have you with us when we go to Switzerland next month Winston" - while Kenwright submits the bid in person.

Winston Reid wants 80k, I have a feeling he will be a Slaven Bilic.

[Poor language removed] that sign up McCarthy and Garbett, promote Browning, ship out Distin and get a world class physio to keep Stones fit.

Money is definitely a factor and more so for some but it's not the only thing. Plus the player in Russia are getting obscene amounts to play there. We couldn't come close to that.

The problem is his wage compared to other players of our club. Even if we could afford it for him what would we then have to pay Mirallas etc

Fully aware of that pal. And you can bet your buns that considering Neville was widely rumoured to be on 75k pw when he retired, the likes of Mirallas, Lukaku, Barry and Eto'o are already on that, if not slightly above it.

Was Al Al Habsi REALLY a thing? No way would Everton consider him.

Well we know Rom is on 70K and Barkley on 65K. I think it was reported that Barry was on 70K and Eto'o somewhere around that.

I think Baines might be our highest earner but given all that could we really give Reid 80K who's a defender, probably not.
