Micah Richards on a free this summer would be a good signing for CB and RB cover. Wage demands would most likely be too high though

Everton will already have a list of all the keepers that would suit. They will be trying to get one of them. If we don't end up with a new one by the end of the window, it's because nothing was available/they were too expensive/the keepers didn't want to come here. Not because we didn't bother.

Just trying to head off the inevitable fume...

You're far too rational for this place......best you leave before you get infected, it's your only hope for a normal life.

Irrespective of Reid we need to jettison big earners who dont contribute NOW!!!

As for Reid I don't see his as the equal of Stones and I want a player as good as him.

Van Dijk is the man and Joe Gomez to come in as rotation.

I wonder how much the MLS would pay for Howard.

Didnt they pay 8mil foe Defoe?

Not sure how much they paid, but he would be able to command a far higher salary there. He would definitely be seen as a marquee signing and would be paid outside of the teams salary cap.

I'm not against Howard staying, but he really needs proper competition and not be a shoe-in every week when fit. It's not a healthy work environment knowing you are safe regardless of how you perform.

If we get a 'long term' keeper in then Robles needs to be sold or sent out on loan to see how he does week in, week out. Very harsh to judge him on the few games we have seen. (Though I admit it doesn't look great so far)

I don't see why Celtic would let Van Dijk go right now though, unless a massive bid came in. He's got 18 months left on his contract, they're in the knockout stages of the EL and they're aiming to win the Scottish prem again. I agree he's good, but I don't think we can afford him.
