Ref Van Dijk, I understand that people have concerns because he plays in the SPL but the main problem players encounter when stepping up to the premier league is the increased physical abilities of the opposition players, pace strength etc, this lad is 6"4, strong as an Ox and very quick, his ability to control a ball, pass and head it won't desert him because he's moved league. His main challenge which all new players face whether from the SPL or La Liga will be adapting to the increased pace the game is played at, having to make quicker decisions, until he plays in the Prem it's just guess work but personally I think he'd do well for us, he's got all the good attributes of a young Distin but with footballing ability.

Yea yea, ofcourse...but if we assume that stones is our only cb that has qualities that bobby insists we need another one similar. Shawcross is pretty much from same mould than Jags.
Except he's young, ballsy and can actually head the ball. And doesn't shirk
A few attributes missing at CB ATM Finners

I really don't understand why any player that is better than Championship standard and not an absolute clogger would be interested in joining Stoke. Still can't get my head around why Bojan went there
Because no manager has shown faith in him the way Hughes did.

More and more convinced that the winger situation will be left til the summer and Bobby will go with Atsu coming back from the afcon. Will be just looking at GKs and CBs this window I reckon.
I don't think we're looking at CBs. GK maybe but Roberto will give Joel more games to prove himself first.
