The Daily Star (I know) are reporting that we have made an enquiry for Marshall and have an interest in Karius and Romero which we know about but also mention Feyenord's keeper Erwin Mulder, don't know much about him but Transfermarkt.com says he's 25, 6'4 and out of contract this summer, might be an option we could do with Er win at the mo(sorry)

This Mulder lad does not even seem to be a starter at his Dutch team. Speaks volumes. Bypass.

Thats how I feel about marshall.

In any case times up for howard. hope the mls have been contacted and offered him.

Need signings this week!!

Erwin Mulder, really? I'd much prefer to stick with Howard in that case. Even if they amputate both his arms and legs.

Not good enough for Feyenoord, so certainly not good enough for us.

Edit: Just realised that Howard also wasn't deemed good enough for Feyenoord.

Marshall is seriously under rated in here, I was on to him well before last season and expected him to impress like he did.

Not the best age and his kicking is his weakness but he's a cracking gk.

@boris, why is Marshall not at the best age? 29 is not that old for a keeper and I think he has his prime to come. I would love to see him at Everton

Sorry I've worded that wrong really.

He us in his prime now which is great and is still easily younger enough to cover us for the next 5 years minimum there however I'd personally prefer him to be younger although there's no other gk playing in Britain who Id take ahead of him, if we're being realistic, I like him a lot.

I don't know about abroad but he's the best affordable target over here.

Think depay is no chance if he has the potential people say. Especially the way champions league teams stockpile players. Think bayerns more likely as a long term replacement for robben/ribery. TBH I'd have winger as 3rd priority, although if delofeu is unhappy at sevilla I'd make a cheeky enquiry to his people to see if he fancies a loan then permanent in the summer here. I think we'll create enough chances anyway. For me centre half is a must, specifically schar from basle, surely 5-6 million would be enough to secure a player worth double if his contract wasn't running out? A keeper would be preferable toi, but I reckon robles has done OK and we should be able to cope till summer once Howard back. Just think schar is a really good opportunity to sort out, with stones, an athletic ball playing centre half combo for the next 5-10 years.

I didn't mean to step on anyone's toes with that last comment about beliving what you hear and the liklihood of a collapse, with us knowing first hand it commonly breaks down a la Fer.

13.5 million seems to be the price range all the wingers are we have been linked with whether it be Deulofeu (unlikely due to Barca ban and love for that club) Perisic ( unlikely because swapping CL for prem) or Depay where he will end up at a big club because he is a great talent although has attitude problems - sure Van Gaal has scouted him in recent times

I expect a new keeper and maybe a winger this window. Tbh we may need 2 wingers due to Pienaar looking finished, McGeady being dire and Mirallas having 18 months on a contract that he might not extend. Even the Atsu loan has been a disaster.

At least the positions that need addressing are glaringly obvious.
