Why is Gil good and why did nobody but Aston Villa want him at such a reasonable price?
 

So this rumour of a player coming in ... Is it serious ? They do like to unvail a player on a Monday night before a game ?Im working nights this weekend save me scanning all the papers in the morning

With Gil, he's played probably a came off the bench for at least 1/3 of those games.

He was on a 2 year loan at Elche and played on the wing most of the time.

Grab me his assist or key pass stats rather than his goal ratio, he's a midfielder.

Edit: Lots of players have joined crap teams for next to nothing as well.

Last season at Elche- 29 starts. 2 Assists.

He's been playing for Elche who are the equivalent of Burnley. Besides his stats are misleading. He's a Pienaar type player that links everything together without ever giving the ball away. The kind of player that assists the assist. He replaced Cleverly and changed the game. I also think Martinez is going to bring Cleverly in instead of him which is why we didn't go for Gil. Oh and Cleverly was awful, I think injuries have finished him as a footballer.

He's a really good player mate, trust me. Valencia fans all loved him and wanted him to stay, the manager has worked hard in the negotiations to get a buy back clause in the deal.. Problem with him is he's meant to be a bit of a divvy.
