Moving Eto'o on frees up a lot of wages for a potential loan at the least. I don't know what the point is in talking about players signed by other teams in the Everton January transfer window thread, sod em they aren't here and just remain hopeful that we bring some quality in before the window closes. Martinez has talked about a keeper but to be honest we need to see more than that as the drop in quality of some of our older players has been quick and apparent to all of us.

I think that's exactly the reason. It's frees from here until the stadium gets built or more likely the money gets sucked up into that project and then gets cancelled. Although 3.2m, that's about the same as Eto'o's wages.

depends on the replacement, i doubt it'd be anything special though, a stop gap loan til the end of the season. i doubt martinez has done much scouting for a striker and won't want to spend the money that needs to be spent on other areas right now.

Tbf Duffy was crap and didn't need replacing.

Think we have strikers covered. Lukaku and Koné both looking good. In-form Naismith knows how to play striker aswell. We would be really unfortunate if all three get injured.
