Doesn't that go against everything he has said in recent weeks though? If we sign a keeper it will be a long term one, which suggests a younger player.

If Robles even approaches Howards 'good days' then Howard should be cashed in whilst we still can, then have Robles/New Keeper fight it out.
You would think it all comes down to how sees Robles. Does he see him as a long term number 1 right now, or at the start of next season?
Assuming Howard is done at Everton in the Summer, that will determine where we are at.

Given that he wasn't in the market for a keeper before Howard's injury, Robles has played so well we think he might keep his place and Howard will be back soon then I don't think he's still looking at GK.

i don't think it was a point of that really mate.

We're deffo still after a keeper, just the urgency isn't as much since joels improvement, but we still want one. All that this gives us is extra time to find the right one.

I would agree with that. More likely a Summer decision to make if Howard leaves.

There's been absolutely nothing believable all window except the same BS paper stories about all our players being sold which given our position seem a bit less BS this year.

Either.

1. Bill doesn't want to risk Martinez with the money
2. We're not going to be spending for a few years until the stadium is built
3. Martinez is holding on till summer when his targets become available.

Take your pick but I would be very surprised if we sign anyone at all.

I'd like to think one would come in, just for the very sake of one coming in even, just to maybe gee the changies up a bit. But, as you've said, I'm not seeing it either. As mentioned (and without, I hope, soundin' like too much of a cock-head), I normally get bits & pieces of waffle & goss via a couple of old workmates - mainly about London clubs TBH - but up to now, not a sniff of anything remotely EVERTON in that either.

Pfff.....

Tell you what I have noticed though - there's normally a mention of 'there's money available if the manager needs to strengthen' etc, that kinda jazz - even if it's BS it's normally said to appease. And as far as I'm aware, not a mumble on that score, might be wrong like...

I think this window has to be one of the worst in memory for most clubs.

I mean no big transfers, no talk of anyone really moving apart from the click bait articles online. Rehashed links to clubs and that is about it. Sonsidering we are more than half way through the month you would expect some transfers to be happening, especially at the likes of ourselves/QPR/Hull/Burnley to name a few.

I actually reckon he had keeper on his mind even before Howard's injury.

Maybe just sped it up a little.

Well let's not speculate. Doesn't sound good though.
