No trying to sound like a ITK but im sure i started the Lennon conversation randomly a couple of weeks ago, it was printed a day or two later. Same can be said with marshall and begovic, we started talking about it on here as potential replacements, then a paper ran with it a day or two later.

What im saying is ignore the papers it only causes your heart to call it a day.

About 10 days back a link was posted that showed the accuracy of the newspapers and the transfer stories they printed.

The strike rate was ridiculously low. (I know, surprising!!)

I think the best was The Telegraph or The Guardian, even they were down in the low 20's percentage wise. The red-tops came out far lower.

IE......they are essentially commercial WUM who print stories so people click on the pages to drive up stats so they can sell more ads.

Don't fall for them.

The rumours in the paper are no different to the messages we post here just that they're in a tabloid and not on a forum. They're as much ITK as my Scottish nana who can't even say football.

And that is exactly why when people come on here with info they have genuinely heard (not read on Twitter) from a connection they should be able to post without fear of being accused of all kinds of stuff.

"I have heard we have asked about xxxxxxxx from xxxxxxxxx"

Sound, take it or leave it....but don't go badgering people for "source" or whatnot.

If they have not heard anything from a connection and are just attention seeking, we should pity them.

i honestly believe transfer rumours to top end teams are designed to make the announcment of said transfer seem bigger.

for example, palace sign a youngish player from eat europe. nobody cares. But if the media has ran for 2 weeks about spurs liverpool and everton are chasing him and he ends up at palace it seems like a massive coup.

Also the stories run with misinformation, link them with us when really they are going burnley. So player is in the country but not going where the story originally said.

The main reason I don't believe any sort of Mirallas/Spurs rumour is they are - ignoring this season - one of our biggest rivals for the Top 4 so there's absolutely no way we'd trade one of our best players for one of their bench players. If we ever did it would just become apparent we have no aspirations of becoming a big club challenging for Europe consistently.
