You would think that having failed to get a striker in during the summer and knowing that this failure has totally blown our season there would have been three months spent making sure the problem was rectified in January and that we had at least one striker signed, sealed and delivered at 12.01 on New Year's Day.
The only above average players who should be in our starting 11 are pickford, Keane, Sig, Coleman, gueye . All the rest of the squad are below average prem players or worse. So basically we need new lb, CB, lw, rw, St.

- The Mirror also report Everton’s pursuit of Besiktas striker, Cenk Tosun, is in danger of collapsing after the Turkish club upped the players valuation to £27m. Everton have apparently offered a ‘take it or leave it’ £25m. Speaking to Sky Sports, Allardyce said “we have done all we can to secure the player but we should know in the next 24 hours whether that is enough”.
- Spanish Sports outlet, Diario AS, say Everton, West Ham and Crystal Palace are interested in signing 29 year old Athletico Madrid Forward, Nicolas Gaitan.
- The Daily Mail says Allardyce has £70m available to spend in this window.
