Isak and Bailey? No chance for Bailey at moment i'd say. Isak unproven at top level. Falls into same bracket as those bed wetting over the young Ajax lad in the summer. What a season he's had by the way.
Is it Dolberg you are refering to?

Im sure if we got him this summer, we could have made a good signing.

He is a talent, no doubt, but his he has been stranded in Ajax.
Im not sure Ajax is the right club for him. I think he should have gone to the PL, instead.

I would welcome him here anytime. He has proven his talent, and you can not deny that, over a bad season in a bad club

That is a fair point, I don't think we'd have got Isak. However Ndidi and Bailey were both achievable I reckon. Given the money we've spent I reckon we'd have offered a lot more in wages.
Would Ndidi really turn down the league champions for a team with nothing to play for? We were guaranteed to finish no higher than 7th and just got knocked out of the FA cup (by Leicester lol).

We were linked with Bailey before but IIRC there were work permit issues as he refused to play international football at the time(still hasn't played for Jamaica).

This doesn't make any sense. if a team had the next Maldini or Ronaldo but the other 10 were poor and they got relegated...you wouldn't want their star?

The problem has been that signing Williams was obviously stupid and Sigurdsson was worth half as much money....anyone can see that. Its not about who we signed from at all.

Why it so hard to understand Leverkusen are less attractive than Everton.

Or would you prefer if we signed him from Genk like @BlueToff suggested one and a quarter years ago;

BlueToff said:
Interesting to hear @Zatara 's (and anyone else's) thoughts on Leon Bailey, the Genk winger. In great form at the moment after a quality breakthrough season.

Watched him play a few times now and I've been very impressed, after knowing very little about him.

Basically Sterling-lite.

He's got a few of Europe's biggest circling around him, though only Ajax have made a move so far, with a bid turned down last summer.

We already have a similar player in Del, mind.

Hes a good player and very direct...a bit like kanchelskis as he always charges towards goal...

Koeman wont sign him...he wants older players for short term gain.

Zatara, Nov 11, 2016 Report

lol don't be silly...is Walcott the new Bolaise (emperors new clothes)

So if the next Messi was available to be signed you don't want him. lol

Theo Walcott over Bailey? That's so Ronald Koeman.

A txt book example of Zatmania in all it`s glory.

In this team this season he would have performed no better than DCL or Tosun now. Even Drogba at his best cant perform miracles.

We just dont get enough decent service to our front man or get people forward to support him anywhere near often enough. Whoever is up there has an impossible task until we change the way we play.

Oh. Soo you are saying, that we did not need a striker, for the first half of the season? (Dolberg is a striker, you know).

Ok, we don't get enough service up front, soo let's not go there, and keep playing sideways, then.

Great tactic. Really progressive.

At some point we have to change our mindset going into games.

If we are playing Cuco at left back then we have to trust him to play left back, not continually babysit him. If it exposes his frailties then so be it, the club may do something about it then.

The midfielders need to concentrate on winning the ball back as soon as possible and look for a ball forward, instead of playing backwards all the time.

We have to play two up front. Cenk and Walcott. Both have pace, lets utilise it.

You do know that non of that`s going to happen don`t you.

As far as I can see, the team is set up with the objective of getting draw, no matter how that`s achieved.

We aren`t going to see any change in tactics \ set up until Allardyce goes.

WTF?

Where did I say we didnt need a striker?. If you bothered to read my posts before goung off in one you'd have seen I was one of the biggest advocates for bringing him in during the summer.

My point is; the way we play he would not have made one iota of a difference had we bought him because he'd have no service and would be isolated. He's struggled for exactly those reasons with Ajax this season in a much lowerr standard.
