What should we do? Clearly not everyone will be happy regardless who we sign. Based on the forum, we’re not allowed to sign a player like Wilson who’s a good age, improving each year, and plays for England now. Can’t sign Bats because of one poor loan that no one knows about. Can’t sign a 25 year slotting in Spain because we signed Sandro under Walsh and Koeman. We’re not signing a Lewa type any time soon, so what do you propose?

Completely get what you're saying, but the type and calibre of player available in this window aren't compatible with Brands' model of how a football club is ran. Established players will demand big wages, players running their contracts down will demand hefty signing on bonuses, lads like Wilson have already peaked in value (see also: Doucoure, Zaha, Wan Bissaka etc.) and are a huge risk having not done it for a long enough period of time at the top level to warrant such a fee. Operating this way since Moshiri came in has left us with a bloated squad, full of players picking up massive wages (Schneiderlin, Sandro, Bolasie, Mirallas etc) that we then struggle to move on.
Purchasing players aged 20-24 from the continent and outside Europe, with massive potential ceilings, before the Barcas and PSGs of this world take the plunge on them is the best way forward, like what PSV did under Brands except with a considerably larger budget, being the next fish up in the food chain. That said, the rewards are far greater when the big clubs come in for the next young star.
It's crucial we get the investment in a CF right this time around, so may as well spend six months getting our ducks in a row, getting our A,B,C&D plans in order now and ride it out with Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin and Tosun, who I feel should be good enough to see us into seventh place come May, as well as provide a decent run in the cup.

i wasn’t saying we have to sign any of them, but I also don’t get people turning their noses up at every single player that’s not a u21 with a cool YouTube video. Happens every window.

When did I say any of that? My stance on the striker situation has always been the same

Wait until a good one, (i.e proven 15-20 a season), becomes available. Don't just sign an above average one to fill the gap and get everyone giddy cus we made a signing. We did that last winter and look where it got us

They've shown in the last 2 summers by dropping 45 mil on a #10 & 50 mil on a left winger that they're willing to put their hands in their pocket to improve the attack, so I don't doubt for a second that the 3 Ms will be going all in for a quality centre forward to take us up a notch

Your gonna be waiting a very long time for us to buy a proven 20 goal a season striker.

Every team in the world is searching for that.

Thats not to say we wont ever find 1, we got 1 in Lukaku, Yakubu, but that also doesnt mean we should sign utter tosh like Callum I scored 1 goal in 17 games in the conference Wilson.

Tetteh would never get a work permit. He's not gotten a seniro Ghana callup, although if he did, they were in the last four of the African Cup of Nations. But still likely not enough points. They are SUPPOSED to make exceptions for younger, talented players, but we are Everton, not a chance. It would be another Onyenkuru situation.

Hes 27, doesnt fit our current model I would say.

Zero resale.
Maybe not, but we need goals and offense. We need someone that can come back to the ball and hold it up as well as play it on to our attacking wide players. We need someone that can get their head on a cross. He checks all the boxes to me.

Regardless, I was watching Iglesias as well. He just looks so funny running with the ball. He kind of hunches over, looks like a clutz. That being said, saw a couple of example of good hold up play. Decent first touch. Just tough to play after watching one match. He wasn't the focal point of what they were doing, that's for sure. Sociedad had a much stronger identity.

I came away thinking that Willian Jose is really good and Iglesias seemed okay, but didn't have a huge impact on the game.

I want Terrier and Turbo from that list purely based on their names
Throw in Max Power and we will win the league

Thanks, I got it off a hair dryer.
