Losing someone as one dimensional as Gana or Sig may just be the opportunity we need to find a proper formation that suits the team.
I said as much the other day.
To quote Albert Einstein “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results”
It’s not ideal to lose a key player but forced change is still change and may bring better results

Obviously Gana divides opinion amongst the fan base, with regard to his ability. But I still can’t comprehend we are considering selling one of first starting 11 players, whilst at the same time having so much dross on our books. Our priority should be offloading them, as opposed to selling Gana.

Second best then: https://talksport.com/football/3544...completed-tackles-season-revealed-and-ranked/

He makes as many tackles as he does because his positional play is so poor. -lol , you have no idea what you are on about. His game is all about breaking up play.

I’ve watched absolutely bog standard footballers waltz right through the middle of our midfield countless times. Considering Gueye is our holding mid then I’d say it is poor positional play. The top DMs in the world are throwing themselves about all over the place, they snuff out the danger and are then usually in place for the next dangerous move. Kante never used to get off his feet much his positioning was so good. Gueye chases after the ball like a headless chicken and throws himself into stupid tackles all over the place. Tbh I was done with him when Coutinho just waltzed past him like he wasn’t there in the derby game. He’s an average midfielder which is probably one of the reasons why we’ve been a horribly average team for the duration he’s been in it.

Correct. I hate the stat about his tackles. Even if he wins the ball more than any other player in the history of the game...

what's it achieve? He passes it straight back

Didn`t Gueye have high tackle, interception stats in the season he went down with Villa...

Gueye has great stats, Siggurdson has great stats, but bizarrely the two of them together create one of the worst midfields in the prem. Thebgame isn’t played on stats and that was Steve Walsh’s problem. Collected a load of players with good stats then realised none of them could pass a ball to each other.

It's not an either/or scenario.

If bids came in for Schneiderfraud and McCarthorse they'd be out the door quicker than you can say "door". Everyone knows they are available but right now either their wages or the fee we want is putting people off. Gana has absolutely no bearing on any of that.

If PSG came in for Gana while we were doing well, I still wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to go. I don't begrudge him the move because he's worked his socks off (unlike Schneiderfraud) and has actually played the vast majority of games whilst he's been on our books (unlike McCarthorse). He's 29, his value will plummet in a year and it's not as if we don't need a major reboot anyway.... the fee will come in handy, represents a huge financial return on the original fee we paid and as much as I like the guy, he has limitations. Dross like Schneiderfraud and McCarthorse don't have any bearing on any of that.
