This is actually not a terrible time to let Gana go, both within the season and in general. Definitely staying up, nothing left to play for, get a good fee before his work rate declines with age. Plus a massive profit for the books.

I rate him highly BUT i think what we need is some real power in the centre.

Hindsight I know, but I’ve lost track of the number of players most on here say weren’t good enough to play for Everton, and are now doing quite well at their new clubs. It was generally agreed they were crap and we should swerve, which we did. “Not good enough to take us to the next level, blah, blah, blah”..........none of us dreamed that level would be a lower one. Just for a season or two, any of Rondon, Arnautovic, Dzeko, Mitrovic, Shaqiri or Townsend would have cost relative peanuts and definitely given us more threat going forward. OK, you might not agree, but can you honestly say we currently have better striking options? I’d rather see any of the first 4 up front rather than DCL or Tosun. Yes, I’m getting desperate.....

Dzeko and Shaqiri both went to teams that are better than us currently. Townsend has had the best month of his career but he will probably regress back to the standard he typically plays at shortly. Arnautovic is a mega tit. Swerve. Rondon and Mitrovic may be better than Tosun but are they good enough to get us where we want to be? I doubt it. Picking decent players off of other Prem teams is how you overpay for Gylfi and sign Williams.

How? We've 14 games left in our battle for 7th and 5 midfielders for 2 spots. They may not be very good for the most part but we're hardly short.

He's slow, plodding, not a good athlete. Decent on the ball, sits back, holds it, spray long balls all over the place. Not what we need., IMO.
