Reading through there is a lot of mention of a marquee signing.. I think we bought him: Schneiderlin. He wasn't £40m or something. But he was over £20m, good enough to move to Man U not long ago, still in his prime and very highly regarded. I think he's higher rated generally than Bolasie was.

By our standards he is a marquee signing. It's all relative.

The more you think about it.. £11m for a kid from Charlton!! We must have serious belief this kid can go all the way! Man I been calling for this youth galactico approach for years.. could be the first obvious one we gone for. In hindsight Stones was our first.. need to see about Holgate still.

Youth galactico approach is definitely the way forward. If they fulfil their potential - great! If they only improve slightly we sell them for a tasty profit.

It always goes quiet at this point. Club A want's Club B's player but they won't let him go until they replace him. A offers B £20 million, B offers C £10 million for the guy they want to replace him with but they want £20 milion. That leaves B with no profit so they haggle, and it's a game of brinkmanship until deadline day.

That and sky pay 5% of transfer fees that go through on deadline day ;)

I'm fairly sure with all the money sky pump into football that deals are held up until deadline day to boost viewers . A deal that might go through will be put off til then or very close to it.
With matches on deadline day this year though might hinder things slightly

Whether they are youth or a bit older, Steve Walsh signings of lesser known players are the way forward IMO. I rate Walsh very highly and hope we have him with us long after Koeman has gone

No way! Is that actually a thing??? The football world is so commercialised I can actually believe it.
