Kevin Mirallas is determined to answer his manager’s call and add more goals and assists to his game.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman recently urged his forwards to share the burden of creativity with top scorer Romelu Lukaku, saying: “They need to be more clinical and give more productivity to the team. If it does not happen then maybe you need to look for someone else.”

Mirallas, who has netted only one goal this season, is one of just eight Everton players to have found the net this campaign.

The Belgian moved to Merseyside from Olympiacos in 2012 and scored at least nine goals in his first three seasons at Goodison.

But having also failed to register a single assist this season, Mirallas accepted he needs to contribute more for his side going forward.

“Personally, I need to create more, score more goals and get more assists,” he told evertonfc.com. “It is not easy and we need the whole team to help each other so we can improve even more.

“I have spoken to the manager and he has told me I have been playing well but he wants more, and I agreed.

“I have looked at my game, looked at situations when I need to dribble more, or pass or shoot more. This week I have been training hard because we know it’s another big game.”

Everton travel to Chelsea this weekend hoping to secure their first league victory at Stamford Bridge since 1994.

Mirallas has a good record against the London side, having netted last season’s 3-3 at Stamford Bridge and the 6-3 home defeat in 2014.

In 2011/12, the 29-year-old was voted Greek Super League player of the season after finishing as the league's top scorer with 20 goals from 25 appearances.

The Belgian forward hopes his previous success against Chelsea can help him rediscover his scoring form - starting this weekend.

He added: “If you score against the same team a couple of times, it is something that gives you confidence.

“I like to play at Stamford Bridge. The stadium is nice, there is always a good pitch and our fans always create a very good atmosphere to support the team.”

Everton head into this weekend’s clash two places and four points behind Antonio Conte’s side.

And Mirallas is hopeful the Blues can build on last weekend’s victory over West Ham - their first in five games.

“The win against West Ham has given us all a boost because we had not won in four games but now, when you look at the table, you see we’re in the European positions and close to the top,

“We need to continue into Saturday night now.”

January is typically a window that neither offers value for money or a wide selection of available players, so I expect to see very little movement.

Add to that, if we're in a similar position come January as we are now I'd expect them to delay any significant tinkering until the Summer.

On to the point of who'll possibly sign, where or what position Koeman will prioritise is purely guesswork but I'd say up front is glaringly weak.

A siging here and perhaps a loan to strengthen the midfield would be satisfactory; obviously more would be better but this is Everton remember.

Basically saying to Mirallas he needs to attack more i suppose...dont think hes done much this season or last...or the one before.

we are soooooooo lacking in forwards who actually SCORE GOALS.

january is always a tough market, ALOT tougher than the market we just absolutely BOMBED in.

we need one maybe 2 premier proven goal scorers or our season will derail.

if lukakua get injured for 3/4/5 weeks then who have we got to net the goals

NO-ONE!

failure to bring in a QUALITY STRIKER will really hurt us.

im thinking its going to be left to steve walsh to find us an un fashionable striker from the depths of europe, which will be a huge gamble, but realistically who is going to sell us their PREMIER LEAGUE STANDARD striker in January??????

this will make for interesting viewing and will ultimatley let us really know how serious moshiri is about improving us a team.

with 2 or 3 new absolute quality additions then we can push for top 4/5, i seriously think we can.

without anyone of note coming, then we will finish 7 - 10th, and thats if we dont get any injuries to our current first teamers.

over to you moshiri and team
