January Transfer Thread 2017

No excuses really not to make several signings as soon as the window opens.

Schneiderlin for me is an absolute must, as is a top class goalkeeper. Prioritise those two positions then fill in the rest.

Yep,after the summer and the recent highlighted inadequacies in our squad, they will not be able to roll out the "it's difficult to get the deals over the line in January, not just us everyone"mantra, another failed window and Moshiri himself will come under greater scrutiny imho.

So right now we have a first choice goalkeeper who keeps making pathetic mistakes and who nobody thought was good enough in the first place, and a reserve goalkeeper who Koeman very clearly doesn't rate at all. Surely he will bring in a much better keeper in January? Or is he happy to continue dropping pathetic points due to Stekelenburg's errors?

Goalkeeper is the first position that needs changing.

Then we look at who is available who would improve our XI and Schneiderlin immeidately stands out: Not wanted by United, worked with Koeman before and surely has a decent relationship with him, already in the north west, wouldn't cost too much (20m at a guess), could come in and challenge Barry right away for a starting slot.

Then surely it's a case of do we add another winger to the squad to challenge Mirallas/Lennon/Deulofeu? All of whom, on their day, are great, but usually average at best. Can we get a player who constantly performs 7/10 at worst? If so, who is that? Let's assume Lennon is gone end of the season, if a good player is available now would make perfect sense to get him in.

We're also going to have to sign a decent second striker sooner or later, so if one is available and willing to join, get him in.

I'd also like to see a huge push to get rid of Kone, Niasse, McCarthy (if we sign Schneiderlin) and Robles.

Realistically, I can't see how suddenly loads of money will be made available to Koeman. It wasn't available in the summer when everybody was talking about marquee signings and making statements, etc, so why would it be now, in the more difficult of the two transfer windows?

Would be happy with a goalkeeper and Schneiderlin, to be honest.

In fact, we could even announce agreements right away and have them officially sign on 01 Jan and ready to take part in our first matchday squad of the year. Typical Everton though will wait until the final week, be rejected by all and sundry and end up loaning a reserve striker from West Ham.

I bet you change your sheets hourly.

Yes but this must be within the first week of the window
