Spurs had aspirations of CL football so why sign a player from MK Dons and not a £30 mill rated CM? Look how thats turned out.
The same with Gana and everyone screaming he was crap, he only cost £7mill etc - now he's our key player.

Coleman was signed from Sligo Rovers, in the top division of Irish league football. Admittedly the standard is poor by comparison but it's not the Irish Sunday league or equivalent. Roy Keane joined Notts Forest from a club in the 2nd tier of the Irish league who were barely staying afloat. I take your point generally though. There are gems to be found far and wide in all sorts of leagues.

I know mate and fully agree, I was reponding to the guy who said Robertson of Hull was terrible just because he plays for Hull. The same could be (and was) said about Gana.

People are screaming for 'names' but when we are linked with 'names' some fans still moan they arnt good enough. Its like people honestly expect us to go and Get Messi, Douglas Costa and Chiellini. Baffles me.
 
The lad from Hull is rank average though, and wouldn't improve us a jot.

Top players won't join us though because we clearly don't offer enough money to tempt them.

No no no, read that again mate don't make up stuff please. I said the current Hull City team. I have seen them play they are just terrible, all of them.

And you are just being sarcastic there with the other poster. He did not say he wants Messi or Ronaldo. He just said we need top tier proven players with better reputation.

No way mate, he plays for Charlton so he's never going to make it. Some people have no clue. £10 mill for a top young prospect is nothing these days. Blackburn paid £8mill for Jordan Rhodes in 2012 - fee's have gone through the roof since then.

So were Villa, one of the worst teams I have seen in recent years and Gana played nearly every game (plus he didnt have a 'better' reputation) so by your reckoning signing him was a huge mistake?

Reputation means nothing in the real world. Some if the best players in the world have come to the prem and flopped.

...Hull looked very solid for an hour against City yesterday. I reckon they are better defensively than the Leicester team we played. I'm always wary of calling a team terrible just before we play them.
