I honestly don't know if some people are just being funny or actually serious. Never mind that Walsh has probably watched him 6-7 times, looking for particular skills and attributes and has obviously seen something he likes - people see him do a crap step over and fire a shot wide on a youtube video and that's it, he's crap.

He's 19 as well. An actual kid.

The lad looks very raw from what ive seen, which is a few different vids on the old youtube, hes a player for the future, instead of spending 1m on players like Gueye we are now spending 5m on our prospects.

Nothing will be the same.

32 games, 10 goals, playing for a Charlton side aged 19 onwards. Must have something about him. @ste d' indica is your missus a Charlton fan? If not I do apologise mate, I remember someone posting on here last season about a petition so maybe someone can let us know a bit more about him.

People are sceptical because the everton way is usually for these punts on a youngster to be our main business of a window, and we're promised to buy into the huge potential or whatever.

As long as he's joined by a number of other higher profile names then it's fine. If we dont get other quality players in, then people will be fair in their criticism.

Hopefully we get the 3 or 4 others we need.

It's exactly that. And people thinking this kid is the answer we are going for. On his own. People said similar to Schneiderlin as if he was going to sort everything on his own.

Hopefully it will be several. And they can all help together.

He will look a bit raw, he's 19 not 28. Yes the youtube clips don't flatter him but Charlton fans think he's fantastic and Walsh (rated as one of the best in the business) has watched him live on many occasions and obviously thinks he is worth the money.

Maybe we are not used to having a bit of money so people are horrified at the prospect of spending £10 mill (apparently £8+ addons) on an unproven talent, but Man U (Zaha), Chelsea (too many to mention), City (Patrick Roberts) and Liverpool (£12 Mill on Moreno!!!, never mind Luis Alberto etc) do it all the time - its not an issue to them

We have to take these chances. If he develops into a top player, he is either going to have huge re-sale value (Stones, probably Holgate) or we will have a top player.

Lets face it, we cant attract or afford the top tier players at the moment, we need to get them young and develop them.
