To expand on this, Sissoko in the Summer, told us he would sign, in the meantime hes doing a deal with Spurs, using our interest to bump up his wages.

Reckon thats exactly what has happened here. United and EFC have talked, said "Ok" between them, but the player/agent are waiting to see who else pops up.

Not exactly unusual, just a bit irritating.

Fully agree with all of that. It's looking grim isn't it?
Definitely not looking like an imminent spending spree to me. Hope that changes but leaked stories of potential £50m VVD bids are reminiscent of Koulibally.
VVD's profile has risen so much, even if we had the money to compete, he doesn't seem realistically attainable.
Perhaps I'm being too cynical. Mosh's loan of £80m is absolutely huge and the aggressive acquisition of RK and SW impressive.
As others have said, if we don't spend big this time the massive budget claim was clearly untrue. If we do, we may well finally have the finances to compete with the top teams.

Personally RayRay, im not totally convinced we have any interest in Morgs, ive seen nothing of any substance anywhere.

If you think we have no money then that's your opinion. All the signs are that we have money. Personally I'd rather we spent it on players that the manager knows will enhance the first eleven, rather tan just numbers to swell the ranks.

Agreed, I reckon that is what most sensible Blues would want and expect. There will always be an element who will be unhappy no matter what, I just wonder why they bother, if I really felt that negative about the club, despite the facts, I would seriously move on. In the Gordon Lee days my old man started supporting Aberdeen, he had the right idea bless him.

Not a chance on a few of those.

Niasse ~£5m
Cleverley ~£6m
Gibson ~1m/nominal
Jagielka ~£2m tops
McGeady ~£500k
Barry ~£1m - Why would anyone sell him anyway, great influence around the club.
Lennon ~£5m.

Feel I have to disagree mate, the prices now are stupid, Bolasie a season or 2 ago wouldn't have cost what we paid. Honestly I reckon we could get in and around those fees for those players IF there were clubs interested.

Thats interesting.

In the summer tho, the players we signed all seemed to happen within a few days, Bolaise was linked by that journo down south then a day later signed, Williams name came up, 2 days later he was done.

We defo prefer flying under the radar on getting deals done.

They can't get the money off a team he won't play for.

I know, but lets say he has told United "I only want to play for Everton", which is unlikely, but lets assume, United have a bid of 24m from WBA and we wont go above 20m, United will just not accept our bid and tel Morgs that Everton have to match the WBA bid.

Im waffling at this point, but its not as black and white as people imagine, its a complex game of chess.

We won't spend mate. The fact we only spent the Stones money in the summer tells me that Moshiri very definitely knows what he's doing with regard transfer funds
