The league is littered with Michu/Zaki types who scored enough to keep arrow fodder teams away from the drop for one season and then did nothing after that. The last thing we want is to be signing him on a 4 year deal only for him to disappear up his own ring in 12 months time.

Yeah this is the worry , like I said if we picked him up cheap a few years ago or if he was already here , he would be starting for us and probably doing ok/well but his price would put me off moving for him

In that case, I offer my heartfelt apologies. If the odd misplaced letter is the worst you do in drink, you're doing very well. I have a tendency when boozing to try to walk through the wall, rather than the adjacent open doorway. I can also carefully place my glass, full of expensive malt whisky, carefully upon the bit of empty space 6 inches away from where the table actually is. Apologies again.

He looks a real player to me and I think he'd relish playing under Carlo. A top manager at a bigger club with real financial backing with a new stadium in the offing would be a real lure and we could double his wages. He would be the provider and cutting edge that we have lacked for ages.

Yep if we could ship out Morgan and Bring in Grealish that,s a major upgrade right there...he would do well in our squad.

Apparently got a buyout clause of 40m. Can see united going in for him when Pogba leaves, as they have zero creativity in their midfield.

Same here. That's why I've stopped drinking. If Carlo is appointed on Monday (my 67th birthday) I will raise a glass of T&T

Utter nonsense. Completely different players. Clearly apple didn't fall far from the tree with analysis of that nature. I watched Cantwell develop through the academy system and he's got a lot of laudable facets to his game. Passing forward for example.

You're in dreamland fella. He will be mid championship side at best in a couple of seasons. I went to quite a few City games with the old man prior to moving to NZ. The lad was struggling to get game time and the fans were on him a little. He's had a little purple patch for a few games this season but will quickly find his level again soon enough
