For what it’s worth, Keane’s form last season has actually made him worth something again. I’m sure we could get ~20m from someone else in the league especially in today’s money.

Take that, add £30m, and go buy someone who is top drawer.

You will have to find a rich blind man to get even a third of that!

If we can get whoever we really want then great but don’t accept 2nd best. If Carlo favours a front 2 then I think any 2 from Richarlison, DCL and possibly Keane would be a bit of a handful in this league until the summer.

Centre half and a centre midfield are an absolute necessity though.

2 top drawer players there in January and I’d be one very happy man.

I’m for signing Zlatan because he’s free, but otherwise I mostly agree with you. Get the CB and midfield fixed and the goals will come. DCL, Richarlison and Kean are capable.

We have enough options up front for this season as much as I would like a senior striker it may have to wait till the summer. A midfielder and central defender are a must though.

Look like they could be the ones. An attacking midfielder, wide forward,box to box powerhouse and a dominant centre half would do very nicely.

When you consider the RS are dominating with about 5 top players and top manager - we have the top manager & Digne/Sidibe/Richarlison can easily match up with their counterparts- I wonder what the strategy should be going forward?

Do we:

1. Sign 5-6 £25-30 million players over the next 2x windows and have a starting 11 of hopefully top 7ish quality

Or

2 . Do we sign 2-3 £50-60 million CL quality players in the clubs spine and hope they like the RS provide the difference?

I think we’ll splash the cash in January.

Carlo will have already given Brands a list of the players he wants with Uncle Uzi sat in the back ground casually thumbing through big wads of dough!

Not sure i agree with player comparisons...

However, one thing is clear to me and that is when looking at the starting 11 we could field there are 2 players missing of elite quality that we absolutelty need.

We must get our hands on a top class centre back and a superstar centre midfielder.

Think back to all the greatest club sidea and you will be able to reel off their centre back and centre midfielder.

Pickford is still young in goalkeeping terms and we have Richarlison up top. Add in top players to those 2 positions and we'll be a totally different side.

For that we need to spend massive money.

Think some posters are jumping the gun here, It's gonna hard to attract certain players with no europe even with Ancelotti imo, We're 15th in the league yes we've pulled off Ancelotti which gives the whole club a boost but I don't think it means we can just pick n mix from some of Europe finest talents.

That depends on the player. We have the money, we have the manager and were in the top league.

It may be that a player joins us rather than another side for any of those reasons and of course, he will play.

John Stones is still only 25 and would be a massive signing for us.

I think its very unlikely but he'd be a masterstoke. The best English centre back around in front of Englands keeper....yes please.

Cant defend at all though...i think we need a Gatusso, Keane, Vieira in midfield.
