There are issues elsewhere but yes, having no presence in the whole of the centre of the pitch is absolutely killing us. We dont have any natural footballers there.

The problem is, even though we have Carlo at the helm, we know the calibre of player he's had and the sort of players he'll want to bring in, unfortunately the only who will join will be aged out players at this point, I don't think any in their prime would consider us a viable option.

Stick in Peter Reid and Joe Parkinson types in the centre and it would have been a different story.

I think all our Sigurdsson, Delph and Schneiderlin should be sold this window with 2 players signed.

Baningime has done nothing to suggest he's good enough
Davies isn't good enough but at least he'll give a toss.

Either way, it's still an awful double.

What do you do though? We can't just go and buy 2/3 more midfielders mid-season, it just won't happen.

I`m hoping against hope that Gbamin and Gomes will be back soon and that will tide us over until the Summer.

However, if neither look likely to be back anytime soon, the cheque book is going to have to be opened, as the three you mentioned above are just a waste of a shirt.

Id go out tomorrow and buy Sandro Tonali and Houssem Aouar.

No illusions of grandeur and no idle play.

Stick holgate behind them in a 3 and sign a centre back as well.
